FIFTH ANNUAL BUCKS HALL OF FAME BANQUET A SUCCESS

Monday, February 1, 2010

Waterloo, IA - The Waterloo Bucks are proud to announce that they raised nearly $1,000 for the Muscular Dystrophy Association at their Fifth Annual Hall of Fame Banquet on Friday, January 29.  The outing, hosted by Beck’s Sports Brewery in Waterloo, honored three former Bucks.

The monetary contribution was made possible through a silent auction featuring the generous donations of gift certificates from area businesses, sports memorabilia, and fans purchasing tickets to attend the event.

“Friday night was another great evening for both the Bucks and the MDA,” said Bucks’ General Manager Dan Corbin.  “We’ve had a great relationship with the MDA for many years and we are glad we could include such a noble organization with our Hall of Fame ceremonies.”

The evening started with Corbin welcoming all the guests in attendance, followed by Halie Frahm and her mother Tammy speaking on behalf of the MDA.  Other speakers that evening included Waterloo Mayor Buck Clark, Waterloo Director of Leisure Services Paul Huting, and Bucks’ Coach Travis Kiewiet.

The 2010 class of the Bucks Baseball Hall of Fame were Kent Brown

(1996), Mike Egger (2000-’01), and Jason Huisman (1996).  All three inductees were present and spoke to the crowd.

The Waterloo Bucks would like to thank all who were involved.

Then Bucks will open the 2010 season at home on Wednesday, June 2 at 6:35 pm versus Wisconsin Rapids.  Season tickets and single-game tickets are currently on sale.  Fans are encouraged to stay in touch with the Bucks in the off-season by utilizing their website at www.waterloobucks.com.
